Mother's Day was May 8th
Hope Broome
Hope Broome is thankful for good health this mother’s day. Hope stayed at the Peachtree Dunwoody Ronald McDonald House for the past six months while her 7-month-old son, Azriel, was treated for Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) at Northside Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
“I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay during this hard time in my life,” said Hope, “I have enjoyed getting to know the other families, eating dinner together every night and hearing their stories about how they have coped. I’ve stayed at the House so long it really does feel like home to me.”
Staying at the House allowed Hope to be less than 5 minutes away from her son rather than having a daily two-plus hour commute, from Madison County, to the hospital.
“As a mother it is nice getting to know other mom’s with similar situations as me, we talk about our kids, laugh together and cry together,” said Hope, “There is a strong bond between mothers here.”
